The year 2016 will go down as the year in music in which an artist is only as noteworthy as the absurdity surrounding their latest album release. As of this writing, Kanye West is at the head of that class, but over the course of the last month, Radiohead appeared ready to throw their name into the hat.
In the past few days, Radiohead have begun pulling their social media posts, deleting all photos, and their website began to fade to white. Fans also began receiving leaflets from the band, hinting to new music, specifically something called “Burn The Witch” – today, Radiohead shares a brand new video called just that.
The video is a stop-motion animation ode to Wicker Man, which pairs phenomenally with the creeping strings and vocals in the song. No word yet on when the new album will be released, what it will be called, but there are plenty of fan theories. For now, casual fans can sit back and watch the madness ensue – it’s a major album release in the year 2016.
“Burn The Witch” will be available at Midnight EST tonight.
