Post-punk trio A Place To Bury Strangers have released a brand new video correlating with the release of their new album, Transfixiation. The video, for their track “We’ve Come So Far”, was shot in the group’s home of Brooklyn, NY, at the Death By Audio space on the venue’s last night in operation under the moniker. Formerly a warehouse space devoted to giving artists and musicians a place to house their craft, DBA closed late last year (semi-interesting side note: Vice Media, a company known for delivering art and culture to the youthful counter-cultures of the world, rented out the space, causing Death By Audio to close shop).
“We’ve Come So Far” is a droned-out yet-full-of-sound punk song, with the group delivering hard-hitting drums, hazy vocals, and a winding guitar and bass cycle. The video is full of flashing lights from photographers grasping their last chance to add the Death By Audio space to their portfolios and iPhone galleries. But that’s to no surprise for anyone who’s seen a show from APTBS, who normally play in the dark, occasionally resulting in bodily injury to a member.
