Saying “long-awaited” would be an understatement for my anticipation for new music from Reptar. Well today we’re in luck, as the indie-prog/new wave group from Athens, GA have finally revealed the first track off of their upcoming second LP.
The track, called “Ice Black Sand”, features a wonderfully bright horn section, a welcome addition to the exploratory-funk sound that the group exuded on their previous releases. Reptar’s sophomore LP is titled Lurid Glow and will be released on Joyful Noise (based out of Indianapolis, IN) on March 31, 2015. You can pre-order the album from Joyful Noise or iTunes, and I highly suggest you do so.
Stay tuned to Needle & Thread for more Reptar goodness, coming soon. Until then, “Ice Black Sand” provides a thoroughly enjoyable sound to hold us all over.
