There are few things better than festival season, so we’re not going to complain about React Presents announcing another new festival taking over an area of Chicago this summer. In fact, if the lineup is any indication of the fun that’s about to ensue, we’re going to welcome Mamby On The Beach with open arms.
The festival will span two days, July 11-12, and take place in Chicago’s “untouched” lakefront venue, Oakwood Beach, in the city’s south side. The venue will feature two stages packed with talent, and offer a refreshing breeze off of Lake Michigan and fantastic views of Chicago’s skyline.
You can check out the announcement video above, but that won’t even give you all of the best names in the lineup. Headliners for the two nights will be Empire of the Sun and Passion Pit, and other major names include the legendary Röyksopp, indie-pop’s fastest rising stars, Phantogram, DJ sets from Cut Copy and (fuck-yes-it’s) James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem fame.
Oh, and excuse us… We failed to mention a few of our absolute favorite “new-ish” electronic artists, Classixx and Tanlines, (who both will be performing live sets), Cashmere Cat, Claptone, and much more indie-electronic goodness, including Milwaukee’s own GGOOLLDD. (And yes, the band that plays that ‘Save Me’ song in the video is in fact playing… they’re called Klingande, and the song is called “Jubel” – something that’s bothered me for a while.)
The event, as mentioned before, will take place on Saturday, July 11 – Sunday, July 12 from 1pm-10pm, and sorry youngsters, it’s 18-and-up. React Presents will also be providing a bunch of travel options, including premium parking, free shuttles from designated pick-up areas, and a bike valet for bikers to take the trail that leads directly into Oakwood Beach.
Tickets range in price, from $99 for General Admission to $199 for VIP, you can check out the details and purchase tickets here. Check out the full lineup in the graphic below, and we’ll be sure to update you when those ?’s become confirmed.
