Jamie xx is riding one of the highest waves in indie music right now, seemingly unable to do wrong. Today, the producer/DJ/contender for Album of the Year has opened a pop-up shop in New York City along with record label Young Turks.
The store, aptly called “Good Times Store” located at “Wall Play Shop At The Hole” 312 Bowery, NY, NY, and is selling exclusive merch not available anywhere else, including a range of signed albums, Jamie xx’s best mixes on tape, and a new limited edition signed version of Jamie’s incredible album, In Colour. Jamie has also teamed up with his favorite record shop in NYC, A1 Records, and will feature crates of vinyl selections from Tim Sweeney (Beats in Space), Mike Simonetti (Italians Do It Better), and Ethan Silverman (founder of Terrible Records). All proceeds from vinyl sales will go back to A1 Records. Jamie xx and Young Turks will also be holding special events at the shop throughout the week. The store will only be open until this Sunday, August 16th. That’s not nearly enough time for me to get out to NYC, so if you stop by the shop, pick up one of everything for me too. Please?!?
