California electropop duo Classixx have shared a brand new track and video, “Grecian Summer”, from their upcoming sophomore LP Faraway Ranch which is due out this summer.
“Grecian Summer” starts as a slow build, adding layers of synths and instrumentation with each enveloping bar and measure. What starts as an almost Disclosure-esque track, eventually gets a little bit of that Classixx flare, with a bright synth beat that instantly places you on a beach with a cocktail in hand. The track is incredibly infectious, on par with what Classixx is known to create, and stirs up enough excitement for what is sure to be one of the best indie dance albums of 2016.
Classixx is Tyler Blake and Michael David, childhood friends based out of Los Angeles. Their debut LP, Hanging Gardens, was released in 2013 after making a name for themselves creating some catchy and well known remixes. Guest appearances on their first LP ranged from Nancy Whang from LCD Soundsystem to members of Junior Senior and Superhumanoids, while the new album features guest spots from Passion Pit, T-Pain(!!!), De Lux, How To Dress Well (!!!!!!), Panama, and many more.
Can you tell we’re a little excited for this one?
Announced tour dates for Classixx are below, and we’d expect a fair amount more to be added surrounding the release of the new album. Stay tuned!
